For the past few months the mining team in Hwange has been mining a very deep, narrow pit with minimal safety benches, steep ramps and very high walls in order to reach and maximise the small amount of coal which we have been able to send out to our clients so far. However, this type of risky mining cannot continue and we require a further four months of work and USD $3.0m of investment before we can continue accessing coal safely and sustainably. This means we have to wait for payment from our principal debtor, who are doing all they can to pay us under difficult circumstances.
