Awards Shipping aims for the high spots BACK in February 1990, two young men named Simon Dun and Ferrari Wong opened a new shipping agency in 350 square feet of office space in Sheung Wan. They had little to help them other than several years' experience in freight forwarding and their enthusiasm. In particular, they had no staff. "For three months there were just the two of us," recalls Simon. "Between us, we did everything." But what they did have was a burning desire to succeed and an ambition to stand out in the fiercely competitive forwarding world as a name that customers could trust. So, with a flash of glamour, they named the company Awards Shipping. But even this milestone looks modest in comparison to the network of Awards Shipping offices steadily opening across Asia. The company now has offices in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.
